The Liv Tempt 4 2027 – Pale Moss is a versatile women’s hardtail mountain bike designed to make trail riding approachable, comfortable and fun. Its lightweight ALUXX-Grade aluminium frame, simple microSHIFT Acolyte 1×8 drivetrain, hydraulic disc brakes and size-specific wheel selection provide confident performance across recreational trails, gravel paths, bike paths and everyday rides.
The all-new ALUXX-Grade aluminium frame uses updated tube shaping to reduce weight while maintaining the durability required for off-road riding. Modern mountain bike geometry creates a stable and confidence-inspiring riding position, helping riders remain comfortable and in control across loose gravel, flowing trails and uneven surfaces. Internal cable routing creates a clean appearance and includes provision for a future dropper post upgrade.
Liv matches the wheel size and suspension travel to each frame size to provide balanced handling for different rider heights. Extra Small and Small 27.5-inch models use an 80mm suspension fork for responsive and manageable handling, while the Small and Medium 29-inch models receive 100mm of travel for increased rollover capability and control. The Small is available with either wheel size, allowing riders to choose between the agility of 27.5-inch wheels and the smoother rollover performance of 29-inch wheels.
A microSHIFT Acolyte 1×8 drivetrain keeps gear selection simple by eliminating the need for a front derailleur. The wide-range 12-46-tooth cassette provides easier gearing for climbing hills while retaining useful higher gears for paths and flatter terrain. A clutch-equipped microSHIFT Acolyte rear derailleur helps control chain movement over rough ground, reducing chain noise and improving retention when riding off-road.
Tektro HD TKD-176 hydraulic disc brakes provide smooth and predictable stopping power with less hand effort than traditional cable-operated brakes. The 160mm front and rear rotors perform consistently in wet or dusty conditions, helping riders maintain control on loose surfaces and changing terrain. A 12x142mm rear thru-axle improves rear-wheel alignment and frame stiffness, while the front wheel uses a convenient quick-release axle.
Maxxis Ikon 2.2-inch tyres combine low rolling resistance with dependable traction across hard-packed trails, gravel and sealed paths. The frame provides clearance for tyres up to 2.4 inches wide, allowing riders to fit higher-volume tyres if additional grip and comfort are required. Giant GX03V double-wall alloy rims add durability for recreational trail riding and everyday use.
The Liv Tempt 4 is equally comfortable exploring local trails or travelling along suburban bike paths. Its Giant Connect Trail handlebar provides confident steering leverage, while Liv Sole-O grips and the Liv ErgoContact Trail saddle create comfortable contact points. MTB caged pedals are included, allowing the bike to be ridden immediately without requiring a separate pedal purchase.
The Liv Tempt 4 is ideal for riders entering mountain biking or looking for a capable and comfortable bike for fitness rides, rail trails, gravel paths and weekend adventures. It offers straightforward gearing, dependable hydraulic braking and stable off-road handling without unnecessary complexity. More experienced riders planning to tackle highly technical trails or aggressive terrain may prefer a higher Tempt model with an upgraded fork and drivetrain, but the Tempt 4 provides an excellent introduction to recreational mountain biking.
