The Liv Adore 20 2024 – Salmon is a lightweight aluminium kids bike designed for young riders ready to explore independently on two wheels. Its comfortable upright riding position, simple single-speed drivetrain, front handbrake and rear coaster brake make it an approachable choice for neighbourhood rides, family outings and everyday cycling.
The Adore 20 is designed around the proportions and abilities of a growing child rather than simply being a smaller adult bicycle. A low 403mm stand-over height makes it easier to stand comfortably over the frame, while the high-rise handlebar creates a stable and upright riding position. Liv Kids Comfort grips, a child-sized saddle and 140mm cranks help provide comfortable contact points for smaller riders.
Liv uses an ALUXX-Grade aluminium frame to help keep the Adore light and manageable while riding, stopping or moving the bike around. Aluminium is lighter than the steel frames commonly found on basic children’s bicycles while remaining durable enough for regular family use. The rigid high-tensile steel fork provides simple and predictable steering without adding unnecessary complexity.
The single-speed drivetrain has no gears or shifters for a young rider to manage, allowing them to concentrate on steering, braking and building confidence. A three-piece crankset with a 36-tooth chainring is paired with an 18-tooth rear sprocket, providing straightforward gearing for footpaths, parks and relatively flat neighbourhood riding.
The Adore 20 combines an adjustable-reach front handbrake with a rear coaster brake operated by pedalling backwards. This gives a developing rider the opportunity to practise using a handlebar brake while retaining the simple and familiar operation of a coaster brake. The junior-sized front brake lever can be adjusted to improve its position for smaller hands.
The Giant alloy 20-inch wheels are fitted with 20×1.95-inch tyres that provide useful grip and stability on footpaths and other suitable riding surfaces. Nutted hubs securely fasten the wheels to the bike, while a sealed cartridge bottom bracket provides smooth and dependable operation with minimal maintenance.
A factory-fitted kickstand makes it easy to park the bike without laying it on the ground, while the included fender helps reduce spray and dirt from the rear wheel. A bell completes the practical equipment package for family rides and neighbourhood adventures.
The Liv Adore 20 is best suited to a child approximately 120-140cm tall who can ride independently or is progressing from a smaller 16-inch bicycle. It is a particularly good choice for riders who will benefit from simple single-speed operation and a comfortable upright position. Children who regularly ride steep hills or need a broader range of speeds may be better suited to a geared 20-inch model.
