The Giant Talon 24 Disc 2027 in Aquarium is a versatile kids bike for neighbourhood rides, family outings and exploring local paths. Its ALUXX aluminium frame, 24-inch wheels and child-sized components help young riders feel comfortable and in control. Mechanical disc brakes, seven-speed Shimano gearing and a 50mm suspension fork create a practical package for bike paths, parks and light dirt tracks.
The Giant Talon 24 Disc features a shorter seat tube, low bottom bracket and low stand-over height to support balanced handling. Its approximately 547mm stand-over height provides useful clearance when standing over the frame, helping children manage starts and stops. The compact layout gives growing riders a comfortable platform for developing their steering, braking and gear-changing skills.
An ALUXX-grade aluminium frame gives the Giant Talon 24 Disc a durable foundation without unnecessary frame weight. It is a practical choice for regular family use, whether that means riding around the neighbourhood or heading to a local park. The familiar flat handlebar and balanced geometry help children feel confident as they build independence and enjoy longer outings.
The Giant Talon 24 Disc uses cable-operated mechanical disc brakes with a 160mm front rotor and 140mm rear rotor. Junior alloy brake levers bring the controls within reach of smaller hands, helping children practise progressive braking and speed control. This setup gives young riders the opportunity to develop good stopping habits on paved paths and suitable unsealed surfaces.
The custom suspension fork provides 50mm of travel to take the edge off uneven paths and small bumps. This adds comfort when a family ride moves from smooth pavement onto a firm dirt track. The Giant Talon 24 Disc is well suited to suburban adventures and light recreational riding, giving children a comfortable way to explore their local area.
A Shimano REVOSHIFT SL-RV200 twist shifter operates seven rear gears, letting children change ratios by rotating the grip. The single 32T front chainring and 14–34T rear gearing provide useful options for gentle hills and flatter paths. With no front derailleur to manage, the Giant Talon 24 Disc keeps gear selection straightforward as young riders learn how to adjust their pedalling effort.
Giant Junior grips and a tapered kids handlebar provide comfortable contact points for smaller hands. Short 140mm cranks suit growing legs, while platform pedals give children a familiar place to position their feet. A Grit Core Lite saddle completes the Giant Talon 24 Disc’s child-focused setup, supporting comfortable family outings and neighbourhood loops.
Giant Junior Sport 24×1.95-inch tyres offer useful cushioning and grip for paved paths and light dirt tracks. Alloy rims, stainless spokes and quick-release alloy hubs complete a practical wheel setup for everyday riding. The 24-inch wheels help the Giant Talon 24 Disc maintain momentum as children progress to longer rides and explore beyond their usual local loop.
The Giant Talon 24 Disc includes a bell, kickstand, sport fender and rear derailleur protector. The kickstand makes parking easier at home or during a stop, while the bell helps children learn considerate shared-path habits. A chain guard on the crankset adds another practical touch to a bike designed for regular family adventures and everyday use.
The Giant Talon 24 Disc suits young riders approximately 130–150cm tall who are ready for a geared 24-inch bike. It is a great choice for neighbourhood riding, family bike-path outings, local parks and light dirt tracks. The Aquarium finish brings a distinctive look to a practical kids bike focused on approachable riding and developing confidence.
Height is a useful starting point, but leg length, proportions and confidence also matter when choosing a child’s bicycle. The Giant Talon 24 Disc should allow your child to reach the controls comfortably and manage the bike when stopping. Our team can help assess the fit and explain the gears and brakes, making the transition to a larger bike easier to understand.
