The Giant Stance E+ 1 2027 – Almond is a powerful full-suspension electric mountain bike designed to make climbing easier and technical trail riding more accessible. Its SyncDrive Pro3X motor delivers up to 100Nm of torque, while an EnergyPak Smart 800Wh battery, 140mm FlexPoint rear suspension and 150mm air fork provide the power, range and control required for longer off-road adventures.
The new Giant SyncDrive Pro3X motor produces up to 800 watts of peak power and 100Nm of torque, delivering strong acceleration and sustained assistance on steep climbs. Its lightweight 2.6kg design achieves an 11% improvement in torque-to-weight ratio compared with the previous system. PedalPlus 6-Sensor technology measures rider input, speed, cadence and trail gradient, allowing Smart Assist to automatically provide a natural and controlled level of support across changing terrain.
The updated FlexPoint suspension system provides 140mm of active rear-wheel travel, an increase over the previous generation’s 125mm setup. Reengineered suspension kinematics improve pedalling efficiency, chassis stability and braking control while helping the rear wheel maintain traction over rough ground. A Giant Crest FloTrac rear shock features an accessible three-position lever for adjusting its performance to suit climbing, trail riding and descending.
Up front, the e-bike-optimised Giant STL 36 air fork provides 150mm of travel and a stiff 36mm chassis for accurate steering through rocky and technical terrain. Its five-position compression adjustment allows the rider to tune the fork for different trail conditions and riding preferences. The 15x110mm Boost thru-axle increases front-wheel stiffness, while compatibility with a full-length mudguard provides additional versatility in wet conditions.
A steep 76.5-degree seat tube angle places the rider in an efficient position for climbing, while the slack 64.5-degree head tube angle provides increased stability on steep and fast descents. A lower bottom bracket reduces the bike’s centre of gravity, helping it remain balanced and composed through corners and technical sections. All sizes use 29-inch wheels for dependable traction, rollover performance and momentum across rough trails.
The integrated and removable EnergyPak Smart 800Wh battery provides substantial capacity for longer trail rides and high-assistance climbing. Giant estimates an approximate range of 119km in extreme conditions, 145km in good conditions and up to 245km in ideal conditions. Actual range depends on terrain, elevation, rider weight, assistance level, temperature, tyre pressure and riding conditions. Compatibility with Giant EnergyPak Plus 200Wh and 240Wh range extenders provides the option to carry additional capacity for especially long rides.
The handlebar-integrated RideControl Dash 2 combines ergonomic controls with a full-colour LCD display showing range, battery level, assistance mode, speed, distance and turn-by-turn navigation. Five colour-coded support levels make the selected mode easy to identify while riding. Through the Giant RideControl App, riders can adjust support, torque and launch response to prioritise battery efficiency, natural assistance or maximum acceleration.
A Shimano CUES 1×10 drivetrain with durable LinkGlide technology is designed to handle the increased loads associated with electric mountain biking. The wide-range 11-48-tooth cassette and 36-tooth chainring provide low climbing gears while retaining useful speed on flatter trail sections. A clutch-equipped Shimano CUES U6000 Shadow+ rear derailleur helps control chain movement and improve retention across rough terrain.
Shimano BR-M420 four-piston hydraulic disc brakes provide powerful and controlled stopping performance, with a large 220mm front rotor and 203mm rear rotor helping manage heat during longer descents. A Maxxis Minion DHF 29×2.5 front tyre delivers dependable cornering and braking grip, while the faster-rolling Maxxis Dissector 29×2.4 rear tyre balances traction with efficiency. Both tyres use EXO protection and arrive set up tubeless on Giant AM alloy rims.
The Giant Stance E+ 1 is ideal for trail riders who want powerful assistance for climbing, additional range for longer adventures and capable suspension for technical terrain. It suits riders entering the electric mountain bike category as well as experienced mountain bikers who want to complete more laps and explore further. Riders focused on extreme enduro terrain or bike-park riding may prefer a longer-travel model, but the Stance E+ 1 provides an excellent balance of climbing efficiency, descending control and everyday trail versatility.
