The Giant Talon 0 2027 – Stealth Chrome is the most advanced model in Giant’s Talon hardtail range, combining a lightweight ALUXX aluminium frame with a 100mm air suspension fork, Shimano Deore 1×12 drivetrain and factory-fitted dropper post. Built for riders progressing beyond recreational mountain biking, it delivers confident control for local trails, fitness riding and off-road adventures.
Giant’s ALUXX-Grade aluminium frame uses updated tube shaping to reduce weight while maintaining the strength and durability required for off-road riding. Internal cable routing creates a clean appearance, while integrated chainstay protection helps reduce noise and frame damage on rough terrain. The frame also features modern thru-axle hubs and clearance for tyres up to 2.4 inches, giving aspiring mountain bikers a capable platform with room to develop their skills.
The Talon 0 uses 29-inch wheels across all available frame sizes, helping it roll efficiently over roots, rocks and uneven surfaces while maintaining speed on open trails. Its 67.5-degree head angle creates a stable and confidence-inspiring front end without making the bike feel slow or difficult to steer. Balanced reach measurements and short stems provide responsive control for climbing, cornering and navigating technical sections.
An SXC32-2 RL air suspension fork provides 100mm of travel and can be adjusted to suit the rider’s weight and preferred setup. The Boost 15x110mm thru-axle improves front-wheel stiffness and steering precision, while the fork helps absorb impacts and maintain tyre contact over rough terrain. A Giant Contact Switch AT dropper post allows the saddle to be lowered using a handlebar remote, providing greater freedom of movement and confidence on steep or technical descents.
The Shimano Deore 1×12 drivetrain combines straightforward operation with a wide-range 10-51T cassette. Its low climbing gears help riders manage steep trail sections, while the 30-tooth ProWheel crankset provides useful gearing for general off-road riding and faster connecting paths. A Shimano Deore M7200 Shadow+ rear derailleur improves chain control and reduces drivetrain movement, helping the Talon remain quieter and more dependable across rough surfaces.
Shimano BR-MT200 hydraulic disc brakes deliver smooth and predictable braking in dry, dusty or wet conditions. A larger 180mm front rotor provides additional stopping power where it is needed most, while the 160mm rear rotor helps maintain controlled braking and balance. The easy-to-use Shimano BL-MT201 levers make the system well suited to newer trail riders while still offering the confidence required for faster and more technical terrain.
Giant double-wall alloy rims are factory taped in preparation for a future tubeless conversion and paired with sealed-bearing Shimano thru-axle hubs for dependable off-road performance. Maxxis Rekon Race 29×2.4 wire-bead tyres feature a fast-rolling tread that works well across hardpacked trails, loose-over-hard surfaces, gravel paths and everyday fitness rides. The supplied tyres are not tubeless compatible, so tubeless-compatible tyres, valves and sealant are required to complete a tubeless conversion.
The Talon 0 is ideal for riders wanting a well-equipped aluminium hardtail for regular trail riding, fitness and skill progression. Its air fork, dropper post, Shimano Deore 12-speed drivetrain and modern thru-axle wheels provide meaningful upgrades over entry-level recreational mountain bikes. Riders seeking rear suspension for rougher or more aggressive trails may prefer a full-suspension model, but for efficient climbing, responsive handling and lower maintenance, the Talon 0 is an excellent all-round hardtail.
