The Giant Talon E+ 2 2027 in Mars Dust is a versatile electric mountain bike for trail outings, dirt-road exploring and everyday rides. With an 85Nm SyncDrive Sport 3 motor, removable 430Wh battery, Shimano CUES 10-speed gearing and 29-inch wheels, it combines helpful pedal assistance with confident handling.
The Giant Talon E+ 2 features a Yamaha-powered SyncDrive Sport 3 motor delivering 85Nm of torque. Its pedal assistance helps take the effort out of climbs and longer outings, giving you more freedom to explore changing terrain. Whether heading along a gravel road or tackling a hilly ride home, the motor supports your pedalling for an enjoyable, versatile riding experience.
An EnergyPak 430Wh battery is neatly integrated into the down tube and can be removed for charging. The Giant Talon E+ 2 is also compatible with the optional EnergyPak Plus 200 range extender, available separately for riders wanting additional battery capacity. A Giant EnergyPak 4A smart charger is supplied with the bike.
The handlebar-mounted RideControl Dash 2 combines a controller with a full-colour LCD screen, keeping ride information and assistance settings within easy reach. You can adjust support levels as the terrain changes, while the RideControl App allows you to customise motor output. This makes the Giant Talon E+ 2 easy to adapt to relaxed outings, fitness rides and everyday transport.
An ALUXX-grade aluminium frame provides the foundation for the Giant Talon E+ 2, with a 68-degree head angle and stable off-road geometry. The SR Suntour XCM 32 suspension fork offers 100mm of travel to help smooth bumps on uneven paths and dirt tracks. A 12x148mm rear thru-axle, front thru-axle and Universal Derailleur Hanger complete the practical hardtail frame design.
A Shimano CUES 1×10 drivetrain keeps gear selection straightforward with one front chainring and a single shifter. The 36T chainring and wide-range 11–48T LinkGlide cassette provide useful gearing for climbing and rolling terrain. The Giant Talon E+ 2 also features a Shadow+ rear derailleur to help control chain movement over rough ground.
Shimano MT200 hydraulic disc brakes with 180mm rotors provide controlled stopping on descents and changing surfaces. Maxxis Rekon 29×2.4-inch tyres combine generous volume with off-road tread for grip and comfort. Their EXO protection and tubeless-ready construction round out a capable tyre setup for the Giant Talon E+ 2.
The Giant Talon E+ 2 comes with platform pedals, a Giant ErgoContact Trail saddle and a riser handlebar for comfortable control. Its frame includes an integrated KSA40 mount, allowing a compatible kickstand to be fitted as an optional accessory. From weekday journeys to weekend exploring, it offers a useful mix of mountain bike capability and everyday convenience.
Giant estimates approximately 58km in extreme conditions, 88km in good conditions and up to 115km in ideal conditions for the 430Wh battery. These figures are a guide only. Actual range depends on assistance level, rider and cargo weight, terrain, wind, temperature, tyre pressure and battery condition.
The Giant Talon E+ 2 suits riders wanting a versatile electric hardtail for recreational trails, gravel roads, bike paths and commuting. It is a practical option if you want help on hills or the confidence to extend your usual route, with straightforward controls and a wide range of gears.
